Hairstyles with Finger Waves and Pin Curls
The pin curl technique is one of the easiest ways to create the curls. This, in turn, will give you a head full of finger waves. Here’s a step by step guide on how to create finger waves and pin curls effortlessly:
Start the process with dry hair. Women with fine strands can use mousse or dry shampoo, especially around the roots of the hair.
- Start by creating a dramatic side part
- Section the front part of the hair, moving from the area behind your ear. Work your way towards the top as you move from the back to the front. The sections you create ultimately depend on the fullness and thickness of your hair.
- Curl one-inch sections on one side of the parted hair, curling them towards the face in the same direction.
- Repeat the same process until you are done with the entire front part of the sectioned hair while setting the curls with the double prong hair clips. This will give you the pin curls. Once you are done, move to the next parted section of the hair.
- Curl and set your hair without changing the direction as you move from the side of the face towards the top part of the head, and then to opposite side. Ensure all your hair is pinned.
- After you are done, curl the rest of the hair on the remaining part in the same direction. The end result should be one side curling towards the face while the other part curls away. At this point, you can spray your hair to add polish. For volume, comb back the sections starting at the root of the hair.
- Let the curls cool for a few minutes before undoing the pin curls. Use a soft brush to brush through the curls gently to create bouncy waves and add a final pass of spray.
